Corporate and client gifts
The category where the standard answer — branded merchandise — converts a gift into an advertisement, and everyone receiving it knows.
We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links, at no extra cost to you. It never changes the order of the picks, and we say so when the cheaper thing is the better buy. How this works.
Every pick below is on Amazon Handmade unless the card says otherwise, and every price is the live one. If you want the rules we apply before anything gets listed, they are on how we pick.

The one we would not buy
Anything with your company logo on it
A logo converts a gift into an advertisement, and the recipient does it for free every time they use it. That is what branded merchandise is for and it is a legitimate marketing tool — it is just not a gift, and presenting it as one is what makes corporate gifting feel hollow. A plain well-made object at the same per-head cost does the relationship work that the branded one cannot.
The picks, in full

Northwind Personalized Full Grain Valet Tray
by Northwind
For under thirty a head, and no taste required. Full grain, made in the USA, personalized, and still under thirty dollars.
Valet trays are the single most reliable gift for someone you do not know well: everyone has keys, and nobody buys themselves a tray to put them in. Full grain at this price is unusual and is the reason this one is here rather than one of the dozen near-identical listings. The snap corners flatten for shipping, which also makes it easy to wrap.

Personalized Leather Catchall Tray
For fifteen or more, on a tight per-head budget. The sub-twenty option, and the one to buy in quantity for a team.
Corporate and team gifting fails when the per-head budget forces you into branded plastic. A small personalized leather dish clears that bar and does not look like swag. Buy one to check the quality before you commit to fifteen — worth doing at any price, and especially at this one.
Worth knowing first
Thinner leather than the trays above. Fine as a dish, not an heirloom.

Engraved Aluminum Wall Clock
For a client relationship worth fifty dollars. Laser-engraved aluminum — the corporate gift that does not look like corporate swag.
Retirement and long-service gifts fail in a predictable way: a plaque nobody hangs. A clock gets hung because it does something, and the engraving rides along rather than being the entire object. Aluminum with fiber-laser engraving is permanent and does not yellow the way a printed plaque does. Forty-seven dollars puts it inside most team-collection budgets.

Engraved Bottle Opener Keychain, Bulk
For thirty people, ten dollars a head. Ten dollars a head, personalized, and genuinely used afterwards.
Bulk favor buying has one rule: the object has to survive the taxi home. A bottle opener on a keyring does, because it goes straight onto the keys. Personalized and engraved rather than printed. This is the practical answer to the wedding-favor problem and to the twenty-person office exchange.

Northwind Personalized Full Grain Loop Keychain
by Northwind
For a team, with names stamped. Full grain leather, personalized, and under thirteen dollars.
Full grain at this price is unusual, and it is the reason this beats the dozens of near-identical loop keychains: cheap keychain leather cracks at the fold within a year, full grain does not. Personalization is stamped rather than printed. This is the most repeatable gift on the site — it works for a class, a team, a wedding party or a stocking.

Engraved Acacia Lazy Susan
For a single high-value client. A 16 or 18 inch acacia turntable, engraved — useful every time they have people over.
The gap between a fifty-dollar gift and a hundred-dollar gift is hard to fill with anything anyone wants. A large lazy susan fills it: it is expensive enough to be a group gift, and it comes out on the table every time the house has guests, which is exactly when the givers are likely to be present. Acacia is dense and takes engraving cleanly.
Worth knowing first
Hand wash and oil it like a board. Acacia in a dishwasher splits, same as any other hardwood.

Holtz Leather Monticello Desk Caddy
by Holtz Leather Company
For someone whose office you have seen. A structured leather caddy with compartments, from a workshop that puts its name on it.
A valet tray is a dish. A caddy is a dish with opinions about where the pen goes, and for a cluttered desk that is the difference between using it and ignoring it. Holtz is a named workshop with a traceable maker, which matters more on a desk object than on a wallet — this one sits in view all day.

Natural Amor Citrus Spa Set, 5 Piece
by Natural Amor
For an office where storage is the constraint. The citrus alternative to every lavender spa box on the marketplace.
Roughly nine in ten handmade spa sets are lavender, which is a safe scent and also a boring one — and wrong for anyone using the products in the morning. Citrus is the same format with a different register. Five pieces including handmade soap, which is the component most spa boxes skimp on.

The logo question, settled
Branded merchandise is advertising that the recipient carries for you. There is nothing wrong with that as a marketing spend, and a great deal wrong with presenting it as a gift — because a gift is a transfer of value to the recipient, and a branded item transfers value back to you.
The practical consequence is that the same twenty-five dollars buys either a small piece of advertising or a genuine gesture, and only one of them builds a relationship. If the goal is brand recall, buy merchandise and call it merchandise. If the goal is goodwill, buy something plain.
Per-head budgets and what they buy
Buying at quantity from small makers
This is where corporate gifting and handmade goods collide, and it is worth being realiztic about. A workshop that makes forty items a month cannot make three hundred in a fortnight. The constraint is real, and ignoring it produces a gift that arrives in January.
- Order one sample first. Trivial cost against thirty disappointing items, and photographs are least reliable in the sub-thirty band.
- Ask about bulk pricing before you order. Small workshops quote it routinely and never advertise it on the listing.
- Allow three to four weeks for a personalized batch of thirty, and more in Q4. Ask the seller directly rather than trusting the listed dispatch estimate, which is written for single orders.
- Confirm consistency. Handmade items vary. For a team gift that is charming; for a client-facing gift where two people will compare theirs, ask the maker how much variation to expect.
Gift policies are real
Many organizations cap the value of gifts an employee may accept — often at twenty-five or fifty dollars — and some prohibit them entirely, particularly in government, healthcare, finance and procurement. A gift that breaches a policy puts the recipient in an awkward position and can require them to return it or declare it.
If you do not know the policy, keep it modest and keep it consumable. A soap set or a small leather object at under thirty dollars is below almost every threshold, and a consumable is easier for a recipient to accept without a declaration.
Personalization: their name, not yours
The distinction that makes corporate gifting work. Their name stamped on a leather keychain is a gift. Your logo on the same keychain is merchandise. It is the same object and the same cost, and the two land completely differently.
If you want attribution, put it on the card rather than on the object. The card gets read once and thrown away, which is the correct lifespan for that information.
